It is being reported that former Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose will sign a one-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here are the notable takeaways from this move.

Former Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose, spent the early part of his career trying to get by LeBron James in the playoffs. The first time these two former MVPs met in the postseason was 2010.

In that first-round series, James and the Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Bulls in five games. A year later, things were supposed to be a bit different, and to some extent, they were.

James went to the Miami Heat and joined forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to help create another modern-day Big 3. On the other side, Rose had more talent around him, and the Bulls went from the eighth spot, to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference on the heels of a 62-20 season.

Rose and the Bulls thumped the Heat 103-82 in the series opener, which caused the fan base to believe the Finals were within reach. However, the Heat took the next four games, earning the franchise its second appearance on the big stage in six seasons.

What should have grown into a budding rivalry between the Bulls and Heat never materialized, as Rose would play just 10 games over the next two seasons due to multiple knee injuries. The two did meet a third time in the postseason (2015 conference semifinals), however, with James and the Cavs besting the Bulls in six games.

In three playoff series, Rose has beaten LBJ just four times in 16 tries. While James has served as the proverbial obstacle for Rose during his time with the Bulls, it is being reported that he and the Cavs have reached an agreement on a one-year deal.

What does this decision mean for Rose , James and the three-time reigning Eastern Conference champions?

Here is a look at the main takeaways from this move.
