Despite agreeing to a second year with the Chicago Bulls, Dwyane Wade has recently started a bromance with Miami Heat’s Dion Waiters.

Earlier this summer, Dwyane Wade agreed to a second year with the Chicago Bulls. Coming off of averaging 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals a game in 2016-17, the Illinois-native announced his return on June 20.

So naturally, it makes sense that he soon after sparked a bromance with… the Miami Heat’s Dion Waiters?

Although never having played together, Wade and Waiters clearly have enough in common. For starters, the 25-year-old essentially took Wade’s place as Miami’s shooting guard last summer. They have also both played alongside LeBron James, Waiters having spent time with him on the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014-15. And both love to be active on social media.

Now, with one another.

It all started when Waiters re-signed with the Heat earlier this month, and Wade took to Twitter to congratulate the young buck.

From there, the love only continued to develop.

Which in turn, became Waiters trying to lure Wade back to Miami.

And you better believe Wade has been liking and retweeting all of Waiters’ signs of affection.

But the Philadelphia-native is not the only member of the Heat that Wade has mentioned on social media lately. The NBA superstar also conversed with former teammate Goran Dragic. First about Conor McGregor.

Followed by a discussion regarding who will have more dunks in the 2017-18 season.

Wade also made his opinion known, on former Miami big man Willie Reed‘s new contract.

So should Bulls fans take this to mean anything?

Well, yes and no.

On the one hand, it is not necessarily a great sign that Wade is still so involved with past and present Heat players. Especially given he just signed onto a second a year of playing with the Bulls; one would expect showing more love towards Chicago. Perhaps publicly welcoming newbies Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn to the team, instead of just focusing on Jimmy Butler‘s departure.

It also does not help that when asked why he is staying with the Bulls for another year, Wade simply told TNT’s David Aldridge “24 million reasons.”

Additionally, it does not seem like Wade and management have had too many conversations as of recently. While talks of Wade getting bought out have been at the center of the NBA rumor mill for weeks now, Chicago’s front office is operating as though the 35-year-old’s return is without question.

But social media can only indicate so much. And Wade did also congratulate teammate Cristiano Felicio on his new deal, send Rajon Rondo off with some kind words and joke around with Michael Carter-Williams.

Plus as of now, Wade is indeed locked into a contract with the Bulls… a deal that may be tricky to get out of.

Will Dion Waiters’ sentiments work towards Dwyane Wade returning to the Miami Heat? Maybe, maybe not. But for now, Chicago Bulls fans still get to call the three-time champion, their own.
