5 Big-Name Free Agents The San Antonio Spurs Could Target In 2017

We have to imagine the San Antonio Spurs will be serious players when 2017 NBA Free Agency rolls around. Which big names could they target next offseason?

I know — the 2016-17 NBA season hasn’t even started and I’m talking about what the San Antonio Spurs could do during free agency. However, considering the time of year, speculation seems like a logical direction for the conversation to go in.

Realistically, the Spurs are always big players during free agency. They’ve made some significant signings over the last few years, which has landed them talents like LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol. So is it crazy to think they could strike a deal with another star in 2017?

There should be plenty of intriguing options on the market come next July. Although many of the big names will be restricted free agents and may re-sign before the Oct. 31 deadline, I’d venture a guess that at least a handful of stars will still be available next offseason.

Seeing as the Spurs are annual contenders led by one of the NBA’s most respected coaches, they’ll be a popular potential destination.
