In all professional sports, but especially in the NBA, the superstars dominate the news headlines.

The league has transitioned to a time where the superstar of a team can dictate other’s jobs. We’ve seen in the past how LeBron James‘ impact and say-so can shape the Cleveland Cavaliers organization.

But as important as superstars are, the players who make up the rest of the roster have just as much impact on the floor in determining whether or not a team is a true championship contender.

These players are often overlooked and taken for granted by the average NBA fan, but can be regarded as the glue of the team. An example of an underrated player could be Robert Horry.

The impact he had on his team’s championship runs were unprecedented, but he doesn’t pop into mind when thinking about the top players in the league even when during his prime.

There are plenty of criminally underrated players in the league still today.
