The summer of 2016 will go down as one of the most influential offseasons in NBA history. A former league MVP and four-time scoring champion joined the best team in the Association, his superstar teammate re-signed, and countless others signed for massive amounts.

From a statistical perspective, those developments and others will lead to otherworldly production.

In some instances, familiar faces will elevate their already historical statistics to even greater heights. In others, rising stars will continue their ascension by establishing just how great they can be.

Whether due to the events of the 2016 offseason or natural progression, a slim number of players will have a chance to destroy the box score.

Statistics aren’t everything, and valuing them at face value can be dangerous. Dismissing them can be just as naive, however, which brings us to the topic at hand: the destruction of NBA box scores.

Whether they’re producing numbers that have never been seen before or turning back the hands of time, 2016-17 projects to be a historical season for the following players.
