If there is a team in the NBA with a brighter future than that of the Minnesota Timberwolves, I can’t see it. The Wolves have a young and exciting roster with a little bit of experience.

Karl-Anthony Towns is the reigning Rookie of the Year and put up veteran numbers, averaging a double double.

Andrew Wiggins had another solid season, averaging more than 20 points per game.

Ricky Rubio played 76 games last season and finally was able to show for an extended period what the hype was all about. He finished fifth in the NBA for assists per game.

Zach LaVine not only was a human highlight reel, winning the Slam Dunk Contest for the second straight year, but he also increased his points per game output.

The scary thing for the rest of the NBA is that Rubio is only 25, Wiggins and LaVine are 21 and Towns is 20. The development possibilities for this core are almost endless.

Kevin Garnett is also back for Minnesota, playing in a mentor role, teaching Towns how to succeed in the league.

However, there is still some roster movement required before the Timberwolves will break the longest current playoff drought in the league. It has been 12 years since they have made the post-season.
