The Golden State Warriors are in a prison of their own making, with Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals — a game that very few people saw coming — representing their last chance to shoot their way out of it and cap off their historic season with a championship.

When the Dubs took a commanding 3-1 lead of the series, everyone thought it was over. “Warriors in 5” picks (including my own) looked great, the Finals were heading back to Oracle Arena for a closeout game and Cleveland seemed doomed for another year of sports agony.

But then Draymond Green got suspended, Kyrie Irving got hot, LeBron James became a basketball version of Denzel in Man On Fire (or Training Day, or American Gangster, or literally any movie he’s ever been in) and two losses later, we have ourselves a series again.

Heading back to Oracle, the Dubs have history on their side. No team has ever come back from a 3-1 Finals deficit, home teams are 15-3 all-time in Game 7s in the championship round, the Warriors have never lost three straight games under head coach Steve Kerr, the Dubs are 50-4 at home this season, and the list goes on and on.

But historical precedence isn’t going to win this game for the Dubs, who have looked awfully vulnerable over the last two contests. To cap off their historic 73-win season, here are 10 areas the Golden State Warriors need to take care of in Game 7.
