The Orlando Magic have played upbeat, exciting basketball for the last few years. Unfortunately, they have not been quite good enough to make the playoffs, even in the weaker Eastern Conference.

This season they finished 11th in the East, nine games behind Detroit, who finished eighth.

On their current roster, only C.J Watson and Jason Smith are over 30 and no player has been in the league for 10 years.

The team also has less than half a roster on guaranteed contracts, so there is an element of uncertainty about who will be there next season.

The guaranteed contracts include center Nikola Vucevic who led Orlando in several categories including points (18.2) , rebounds (8.9) and blocks per game (1.1).

Other key players with guaranteed contracts are their starting shooting guard, Victor Oladipo, starting power forward Aaron Gordon, starting point guard Elfrid Payton, backup small forward Mario Hezonja and backup point guards C.J. Watson and Shabazz Napier.

So as you can see, there is a nucleus of a team there. With the 11th pick in the upcoming draft and the free agency period coming up, this could be an exciting time for Orlando, especially with new head coach Frank Vogel.
