With their backs against the proverbial wall, facing a 3-1 deficit, the Cleveland Cavaliers responded with a 112-97 win in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Although the victory was impressive considering the Warriors were 50-3 at Oracle Arena prior to that loss, the defending champions are still in the driver’s seat, more or less.

Let’s keep in mind that Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 and it took phenomenal efforts from both LeBron James (41 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists) and Kyrie Irving (41 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals) to help the Cavaliers send the series back to Quicken Loans Arena.

Furthermore, while 10 teams have overcome a 3-1 deficit in a playoff series, but none has ever done so in the Finals. Whether the Cavs can become the first team to accomplish the feat remains to be seen.
