As the Golden State Warriors head back home with a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, the NBA season has a good chance of coming to a close Monday night. Even though games will not be taking place, the drama and news are never-ending.

The NBA Draft will be the beginning of the offseason on June 23, but the period of the offseason that fans love most is free agency. And as if there wasn’t enough bickering about certain players cashing out on huge contracts in past years, this July will have plenty to offer as the salary cap will rise to the $90-92 million range.

Point guard Mike Conley will be the top option at his position, and he will have his choice of where he wants to take his talents along with getting a max deal.

More from NBA

Conley will be heading into his ninth season in the NBA, all of which were spent as the floor general for the Memphis Grizzlies. His 15.3 points and 6.1 assists per game averages aren’t ones that scream out “elite,” but there is no question that Conley is one of the most underrated players in the league.

He has a feel for the game that every coach needs in his point guard. Conley has the instincts of knowing when to get his teammates involved, and when to look for his own scoring opportunities. The point guard position currently is the deepest, most difficult position because of the amount of players with stunning athleticism, versatility, and overall skill.

While Conley won’t stick out exploding to the rim like a Russell Westbrook or knocking down three’s from 30+ feet like Stephen Curry,  he plays to the strengths of his game on both ends of the floor and controls the game by doing so. There have been a number of teams that are rumored to pursue Conley heavily once the signing period begins.

Let’s take a look at the five best possible fits for the eight-year man out of Ohio State.
