The beginning of the most anticipated Western Conference Finals of recent memory didn’t disappoint as the Oklahoma City Thunder battled back from being down by as many as 14 points to steal Game 1 from the Warriors in Golden State 108-102.

The team’s usual suspects including the duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook for the Thunder and the trio of Golden State in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green supplied a plethora of reasons of why they are all top players in the NBA.

Despite heading into the locker room at halftime with just three points, Westbrook took over in the second half by pouring in 24 points. Curry, Thompson, and Green combined for 74 of Golden State’s102 points.

The Warriors were the favorites coming into the series, but Oklahoma City presented quite a challenge after a monumental Game 6 win to close out the series with the San Antonio Spurs.

The Thunder had been battle-tested throughout their playoff journey by eliminating the Dallas Mavericks and the Spurs, while the Warriors took care of business for the most part without two-time MVP Curry by taking care of the Houston Rockets in the first round and the Portland Trail Blazers in the second.

The Thunder already achieved what they needed to in the first part of this series–win one game in Oakland. They now hold control of the series and will need to make adjustments in Game 2 in order to keep their foot on the gas pedal heading forward.

Here are five things the Thunder need to focus on as Game 2 approaches Wednesday.
