Los Angeles Clippers – Evan Turner

The Los Angeles Clippers went home disappointed yet again this season.

After toughing out the Blake Griffin debacle as he sustained an injury then broke his hand punching a trainer in the face, the Clippers looked to be back on track heading into the playoffs. Optimism disappeared quickly once Griffin AND Chris Paul sustained injuries that would keep them out of the rest of the playoffs. The Clippers quickly folded against the Portland Trail Blazers and the team exited early yet again.

Doc Rivers is tired of losing at this stage, and there have been rumors of him breaking up the core of CP3, Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan. If this doesn’t happen though, the Clips will again try and reload for a championship run.

Evan Turner is a cheaper candidate that could help the team go above and beyond. He was the sixth man for the Boston Celtics and was a solid option facilitating offense and attacking the paint. He has the size to play small forward, which would allow J.J. Redick to play shooting guard the entire game, and he would run the second unit and potentially join the starters for crunch time.

This selection goes out the window if Rivers decides to blow it up, but Evan Turner would be a great add to a roster in need of a stronger second unit. Jamal Crawford is wonderful, but his inefficiencies at barely 40 percent from the field can also kill momentum, so letting him walk and getting a little bigger would help the Clippers enormously.
