After making quick work of the Houston Rockets in their first round playoff series, the Golden State Warriors faced a tougher opponent in the Western Conference semifinals. With Stephen Curry still recovering from a knee sprain, the Dubs had their work cut out for them to keep their championship aspirations alive.

If Game 1 was any indication, the Warriors are more than up to the challenge of doing so until their MVP can return.

In Sunday afternoon’s series opener, Golden State wasted no time putting the Portland Trail Blazers in a hole, eventually burying them in a 118-106 rout that was a lot worse than the final score indicated. Klay Thompson was a human flamethrower, Draymond Green was in full Swiss Army knife mode and the Dubs limited Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum to 42 points on 43 shots.

Coming off such an impressive performance, here are the five biggest takeaways from a Game 1 that told us quite a bit about the Warriors’ second round series.
