NBA rumors have Mike Conley leaving the Memphis Grizzlies. There will be many teams vying for his services once he hits free agency.

Mike Conley has been one of the more under-appreciated point guards in the NBA throughout his career. Playing in the strong Western Conference, he has never made an All-Star Game despite being one of the best floor generals in the game.

This season for the Memphis Grizzlies has been a disaster. They have been one of the more consistently successful franchises recently, but a plague of injuries has struck this team and they’ve been sticking gum in the cracks of their sinking submarine ever since.

With coach Dave Joerger reportedly on the hot seat, Marc Gasol coming off a major injury and Zach Randolph aging, it would make sense for soon-to-be free agent Mike Conley to explore his options on the open market, and according to NBA rumors, that’s what he will do.

His experience, character and poise would be in high demand, especially with all of the cap space most teams will receive this summer.

On Monday, Kurt Helin of NBC reported that Grizzlies officials are expecting Conley to leave this summer:

It’s important to keep in mind that anything can happen in free agency. Rumors of players leaving are far from guarantees and there are those that believe Conley will not leave Memphis based on the bond he has with Gasol and the organization. But with this report, it’s fun to speculate and picture what could be.

While the point guard position has never been deeper, there still are several teams that could desperately use someone like Conley to help put them over the top. So with that in mind, let’s explore what some of the best fits would be for Conley if he does choose to leave Memphis.
