The race for the 2015-16 NBA MVP award is over. We made that determination quite some time ago, as Stephen Curry was making genuine history, and the rest of the Association was merely playing at a level that deserved our respect and admiration.

Russell Westbrook is challenging the notion that the race for MVP has concluded with one of the best all-around seasons in NBA history.

Both Curry and Westbrook are working their way through the 2015-16 season in historic fashion. They’re producing at legendary levels, thus making genuine and compelling cases for an MVP award that’s becoming less of a guarantee by the week.

The question, of course, is can Westbrook actually catch Curry and win the MVP award? That has yet to be seen and determined.

This past week made the conversation all the more intriguing.
