The Orlando Magic are last in the Southeast division, they’ve got a horrid 22-28 record, and yet I’d wager many league executives are envious of the position they sit in. The Magic have a stockpile of young talent. In fact, the Magic can’t possibly involve the entire troop they’ve collected. Something has to give, many suspected it would be young prodigy Aaron Gordon, or struggling third-year guard Victor Oladipo, however it appears Tobias Harris may be the guy on the outs.

The development of Gordon in his sophomore season and significant depth at the power forward position make dealing Harris a very real possibility. The snag, the Magic just re-signed Harris last offseason. In fact, Harris is on an admirable four-year, $64 million dollar deal. Gordon, Mario Hezonja, Oladipo, and Elfrid Payton are all still on their rookie deals. Dealing Harris makes the most sense from a numbers perspective and it allows the Magic to continue developing their young core.

So the question becomes, what do the Magic want? If the Magic are truly considering breaking up Peter Payton and the Lost Boys, the price may be steep. Though the Magic have options, they could keep stockpiling or they could cash in and take a run at a deceivingly still weak Eastern Conference.

We walk through a few possibilities in both situations:
