NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Teams That Could Use Pau Gasol

Although he’s beloved by the Chicago Bulls, the latest NBA trade rumors indicate that Pau Gasol could be moved before the trade deadline. These 5 teams could use his skills.

The NBA is full of great teams this season, as always. But unlike most years, there is one team that is seemingly standing head and shoulders above their competition–the Golden State Warriors.

So when a marquee name like Pau Gasol gets floated around in NBA trade rumors, every non-Dubs great team perks up. And for good reason: Gasol can add a lot to a title contender.

That’s exactly what happened on Wednesday, when the Chicago Tribune wrote that a few executives have noted to the Tribune that the Chicago Bulls have continued to gauge interest in Gasol.

Although the Bulls have been contenders fairly consistently for the past several seasons, they seem to be on a lower tier this season. Having a superstar like Jimmy Butler helps, but steps backward by players like Derrick Rose, Tony Snell, and Nikola Mirotic have dropped the Bulls to the fifth seed in the East.

Dealing Gasol, who has a player option that essentially means he’s on an expiring contract, could be a smart move for these Bulls. There will certainly be no shortage of interest in the championship caliber Spaniard.

Four teams could use Gasol more than the rest of the Association though. The potential suitors are listed in order of likliness–the first team up would love to snatch up Pau Gasol, while the last will likely be interested but not quite as much.
