The Miami Heat will be continuing their brutal road trip Friday night when they travel to the high altitude of the Pepsi Center to take on the Denver Nuggets. The Heat have had a tough road trip thus far, defeating the Phoenix Suns to get things started but losing their last three games without much resistance.

To make matters worse, they will be without Goran Dragic, who was sent back to Miami for testing on his injured left calf. A difficult road trip and matchup has become that much more difficult, as the Heat will be without their starting point guard for the second straight game.

If the results against the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday were any indication, the Heat could be in for another long night tonight against the Nuggets.

More from Miami Heat

The Heat were crushed by the Clippers on Wednesday night, losing 104-90. With it being the first game without Dragic it was obviously a struggle, but when you take into account that the Clippers still did not have Blake Griffin in the lineup, and DeAndre Jordan was also out for the game because of an illness, it makes it a relatively embarrassing loss for the Heat.

While the Heat are coming into the game on a low note and without any momentum, the Nuggets are coming in playing some solid basketball. They have begun an eight-game homestand with two victories, defeating the Charlotte Hornets and Golden State Warriors in close games. They have won three of their last four games after enduring a rough patch of their own when they lost nine of 10 games.

The Nuggets will have the momentum coming into this game, as they will look to continue the early success of their homestand against the Heat. What will it take for the Heat to pick up the victory to get back on track and end their losing streak? Check out our keys to the game for a Heat victory when they tip off against the Nuggets.
