If they hadn’t already done so, the Brooklyn Nets officially snatched the title of the NBA’s Most Depressing Team over the weekend with a somewhat stunning front office shakeup that resulted in the firings of general manager Billy King and head coach Lionel Hollins.

In a season that’s featured 10 wins in 37 tries, an injury to rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, a season-ending ACL tear for starting point guard Jarrett Jack and the added knowledge that no matter how bad the Nets are, they might not have a first round draft pick until 2020, Brooklyn is as rudderless as ever.

Owner Mikhail Prokhorov may still be committed to winning a championship, but one of the first orders of business will be replacing Hollins, a coach who could hardly be blamed for posting a 48-71 record (.403) win percentage in his time in Brooklyn given the severe lack of talent he had to work with.

For now, assistant Tony Brown will serve as interim head coach, but Brooklyn will undoubtedly want a more qualified candidate to take the job for the long trek back to prominence.

The Nets will have a long list of coaches for Prokhorov to meet with, but which ones are best suited for the job? And which ones would actually be interested in taking the job given the fact that Brooklyn has no way of rebuilding through the draft in the near-future and just as little hope of striking gold in free agency?

Here’s a look at five potential candidates to replace Lionel Hollins.
