Welcome back to the fifth edition of the NBA Stock Exchange, one of HoopsHabit’s newest regular columns!

Once a week, I step in to take you on a trip around the league to take a closer look at some of the league’s most pressing trends that are already in progress, and those that may be just over the horizon.

Should you buy, sell, or hold your favorite NBA stock? From the smallest intricacies in an individual player’s game to the strategies employed by coaches and their teams, I’ll put it all under the microscope to decide what’s worth believing in, and what simply isn’t going to work out.

This week we’ll take a closer look at seven different scenarios currently playing out in the NBA, from team performances, to front office strategies, and the form of individuals. This week, a common theme on offer is the impact that momentum swings can have on all of those around the league.

More from NBA

I’m buying into a team on course with history, the evolution of a veteran who was once a star, the impact of winning on a current young superstar, and a youngster who may be better than anticipated.

I’m going to hold off on the playoff hopes of a young team, who have surprised and impressed in equal measures early on, as a crucial period approaches.

Then finally, I’ll bemoan the luck of one of the East’s contenders when it comes to injuries, and try to figure out if there’s any coherence in what’s quickly becoming one of the ugliest situations in the NBA.

So, without further ado, let’s get down to it!
