On a night where the Golden State Warriors shot 5-for-18 from three-point range, failed to reach 90 points and saw the Splash Brothers go a combined 11-for-31 from the floor, the defending champs passed their biggest test of the season so far with a Christmas Day win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The reason they emerged victorious in an NBA Finals rematch despite a mediocre shooting night? Draymond Green, who might just be the best power forward in the league right now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Before you pick up your pitchforks and torches, just hear me out for a second. While you’d quickly think of Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge when asked your opinion on the NBA’s best power forward, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Draymond Green belongs in that conversation.

This is about more than a 22-point, 15-rebound, seven-assist performance that lifted the Dubs to an NBA-best 28-1 record Friday night. This is about the arrival of a versatile star who has burst onto the scene faster than anyone would have dreamed for the former second round draft pick.
