There are 13 games on Wednesday’s NBA slate. With 26 of the 30 teams in action, there is a greater opportunity of hitting on bargains. There is also a greater opportunity to miss on players that appear to be locks.

Following Tuesday’s small slate of four games, six of the eight teams that played are in the second game of a back-to-back on Wednesday night. The Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies may all be strategic players to sit.

Of course some individual matchups may trump the fact that a specific player is playing in a back-to-back.

Wednesday night’s slate provides an opportunity for some great matchups. The Eastern Conference race is tight. The top 10 teams in the East are all within four-and-a-half games of one another. The Western Conference is a little more spread out, with the elite teams out ahead the second tier. However, the fourth through 13th teams in the West are separated by five-and-a-half games.

The NBA season is about a third of the way finished, and teams are starting to cycle through for their second time against each other. This is a prime opportunity for teams that are jockeying for position in their respective conferences.

Without further to do, let’s take a dive into the best picks, bargains and lineup for Dec. 23.
