With NBA trade season heating up, the Phoenix Suns are expected to be one of the league’s top sellers. The Suns are sitting where they’ve been the last few seasons in NBA Purgatory — not good enough to be a surefire playoff team but not bad enough to tank for a top lottery pick — and even worse, they’ve got a logjam at the power forward position.

Facing a potential franchise-worst six-year postseason drought if they fall short this season, Suns general manager Ryan McDonough may already have a deal in place to trade a player who, over the summer, sounded off on the organization and expressed his desire to play for another team.

Did the Suns change their minds? Can Morris work his way back into the regular rotation and eventually reclaim his starting spot? Here’s a look at the ongoing Markieff Morris saga that’s been so hard to take at face value.
