NBA: 5 Players That Deserve First All-Star Appearance

Every year there is a crop of young talent that has yet to make an NBA All-Star Game. Here are five players that deserve to make the cut in 2016.


It’s probably too early to talk about NBA All-Star weekend. I mean, we haven’t even hit Christmas yet. But that’s not going to stop the conversation and it’s hard to ignore all of the awesome things we’ve seen through the first quarter of the season that make us want to say, “He should be an All-Star!”

There aren’t really any rules concerning my choices here. The usual thoughts regarding what makes an All-Star player apply: points, defense, overall impact, team seeding, etc. The only specific requirement for this list is that the applicants can’t have been an All-Star before.

With that being said, here are some honorable mentions that didn’t make this list:

All of those guys deserve a nod for what they’ve done so far this season and if I had more space on this list, I’d include them in some order – which reminds me, the following list is in no specific hierarchy of who deserves to be an All-Star more than someone else. All of these guys deserve to make the cut.
