On today’s Daily NBA Fix, 36 and older can be considered old age, but that doesn’t mean all of them are getting too old for this… stuff.

There has been plenty of talk about Kobe Bryant being too old and beat up to make meaningful contributions at this point in his career. He’s playing too many minutes and shooting too much, killing team chemistry along the way.

Friday night, we saw a flash from the past as Vince Carter entered the game and gave us a little bit of Vinsanity.

A few days ago, we were joking about the old man still being able to dunk the ball, but Vince is finding a role where he can contribute to the Memphis Grizzlies. Looking at the statistics, he’s only around the league average these days as far as on court contributions go, but I imagine his worth goes beyond the box score. On Friday night, however, they could have used a little more from Vince and the rest of the team as the Grizzlies fell to the Atlanta Hawks 116-101.

Though Dwyane Wade hasn’t hit the 35 and up plateau, he isn’t exactly young at 33 either. His body has certainly been showing signs of its advanced age as he’s been resting more often these past few seasons, but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t one of the Miami Heat’s best players. We’ve seen a slight dip in his numbers to start this season, but he’s still giving us moments like this.

Wade hasn’t hit the point where he needs to step back like Carter has, but hopefully he’s more ready to accept the passage of time than Kobe has been.

The San Antonio Spurs are old. Real old, but they are still playing a very beautiful brand of basketball as the 33-year-old Boris Diaw helped demonstrate in a 91-80 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Every season we keep saying the Spurs aren’t dead yet, and as the current second seed in the Western Conference, that still appears to be true.

Curry Scores 41, Causes Suns to Collapse on Self

One of the scariest things about what Stephen Curry is doing right now is the fact he’s only 27 years old.

So nights like last night where he scored 41 points in the Golden State Warriors 135-116 win over the Phoenix Suns probably won’t be ending anytime soon.
