Who are the best players in the NBA? Based solely on the 2015-16 regular season, these are the truly elite.


The first full month of the 2015-16 NBA regular season is coming to a close. History has already been made, MVP candidates have emerged, and a number of players have gone from obscurity to early-season stardom.

It’s far too early to be talking award season, but it’s never too early to evaluate the progress made by the NBA’s elite.

The No. 1 player is deservedly safe and secure in his throne, but kingdoms crumble quicker than they’re built. Below him, other warriors of the NBA are attempting to break through as MVP candidates in their own right.

One way or another, the battle for individual supremacy is well under way.

For as dominant as the player in the top spot has been, even he has a full season remaining to maintain his advantage. Every team in the NBA has at least 65 games remaining, which is more than enough time for everything to change.

Thus, the player power rankings—a piece dedicated to evaluating the Top 20 individual performers based on this season and this season alone.
