The Chicago Bulls kicked off their preseason with a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks. And being that these two teams engaged in what turned out to be a very chippy first-round playoff series just a few months ago, it would be interesting to see if that intensity would carry over into this matchup.

As expected between two ball clubs who pride themselves on playing solid defense, offense was at a premium early on, as the teams scored a combined 77 points in the first half, with Milwaukee leading 40-37 at intermission.

In the second half, however, the Bulls finally came to life as they eclipsed their first-half scoring output in the third quarter with 40 points–including 18 from deep–en route to a 105-95 victory.

While it is way too early to predict what kind of potential the Bulls have following just one preseason contest, there were a few things that are worth talking about. That being said, let’s take a look at some of the notable takeaways from Chicago’s preseason opener.
