James Harden’s $200 Million Adidas Deal Begins
By Duncan Smith
Back in August, Houston Rockets guard James Harden signed a deal with Adidas worth $200 million over the course of 13 seasons. On the first day of October the contract began, and Adidas backed the truck up in more ways than one.
Adidas tweeted a video of the delivery of a truck full of shoes to Harden’s house:
Along with Adidas posting this video, Harden took to Instagram and posted a picture of the truck and the delivery itself.
With this deal now officially under way, last season’s MVP runner-up can add this to an impressive offseason that included being on the cover of NBA 2K16 along with Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, and being named the inaugural NBPA Players Awards MVP for last season.
Harden has made the big jump from star to legit superstar since being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Rockets, and his great leap hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans, the media or the corporate world.
That said, the offseason of accolades has come to an end, training camp is underway and the preseason is about to get started. The regular season begins for the Rockets on Oct. 28, so in the words of James Harden himself on his Instagram post, the wait is over, let’s go!
