It’s been nearly a week since DeAndre Jordan turned the basketball world on it’s head by changing his mind to return to the Los Angeles Clippers instead of bolting Los Angeles for Dallas. Now that the dust has mostly settled, we can start looking forward as to what Jordan’s return to the Clippers means for the franchise.

It was reported throughout Jordan’s complicated free agency that he wanted to have a bigger role offensively wherever he would end up. Now that he’s back, it’s worth wondering if Jordan deserves a bigger role in the Clippers offense.

In order to know what a bigger role for Jordan in the Clippers offense would be, we must first understand what his offensive role has been in the past. Jordan took 6.5 shots per game last season which ranked him seventh on his own team, behind Matt Barnes and Austin Rivers. Even worse than that, Jordan was 10th on his own team among touches per game in the frontcourt.
