The power forward position is a staple of a healthy fantasy roster. In fact, along with the point guard, it’s one of the most productive positions from top-to-bottom. With plenty of talent to choose from, this top-five list had some high-profile trimmings that just missed the cut.

A few of the players that you won’t find in the top five are (in no particular order):

  • Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers: To restore his fantasy value to full strength, he’s going to have to move on from Cleveland. If he stays, he’s still a 16-10 guy who hits threes.
  • Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors: He’s a jack-of-all-trades, but he’s not going to come as cheap as he did last season. His free-agent destiny will tell a lot about how people view him next season.
  • Greg Monroe, Detroit Pistons: Monroe is a solid double-double guy who can pass, making him a pretty deadly fantasy player in the right situation. However, he’s not a dominant scorer, and he doesn’t get many blocks.
  • Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs: Duncan had a phenomenal season, but there is too much uncertainty to rank him with the likes of these fantasy studs. This playoff run could be the last time we see him.
  • Derrick Favors, Utah Jazz: He could be an upside pick next year, and he has offerings that hit multiple categories. He still needs to up his game as a scorer to be considered a potential elite option.
