The Cleveland Cavaliers are 5-7 and are in serious trouble — here’s why they should be panicking.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! In figurative terms, that’s an accurate statement for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who sit two wins behind the Milwaukee-freaking-Bucks and are only one loss ahead of the Indiana Pacers and their gang of C+ players in the Central Division. After blowing a double-digit lead at home to the Toronto Raptors, it’s time for the Cavaliers to really start panicking.

Don’t forget — many (myself included) — were picking the Cavaliers to win the Eastern Conference this season. How could they not run roughshod through the patsies in the East with LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving together? They’ll score 120 points a game! They’ll be terrific in the open court! They’ll shoot the ball well because of such great spacing! Yeah, that’s not exactly how things have happened.

Since the East is still the East, the Cavaliers would actually be in the playoffs — tied with the also disappointing Brooklyn Nets as the No. 7 seed, no less — if they started today. Though 12 games is still too small of a sample size to make heads start rolling, there are some enormous red flags that give us reason to be worried. Here are five of those red flags.
