Comedian Frank Caliendo to perform at the Milwaukee Bucks‘ home opener

The Minnesota Timberwolves can keep Vanilla Ice. The Atlanta Hawks can keep T.I. The Milwaukee Bucks are going a different route, with legendary comedian Frank Caliendo performing at halftime of their home opener on Friday, Oct. 31 against the Philadelphia 76ers from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

It’s a shift from what’s usually a musical or acrobatic act during halftime of NBA games, but it makes more sense when you realize that Caliendo is a Wisconsin native who attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He went to Waukesha South High School prior to college.

Caliendo is best known for his impressions, especially Charles Barkley, John Madden, George Bush, Robert DeNiro and Jon Gruden. If you haven’t seen him perform, do yourself a favor and head over to YouTube and search for him.

Many in the Milwaukee area got a glimpse of the greatness to come, as Caliendo got his stand-up  start at comedy and night clubs in the area during his college days. Take a look at some of Caliendo’s best work — this is a video of impressions that Frank did on Numbers Never Lie.

The Bucks are getting ready to start a new era of basketball, headlined by the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, Jabari Parker. With a new head coach in Jason Kidd and the returning core of Giannis Antetounmpko, Brandon Knight and Larry Sanders, the Bucks won’t likely be in the Eastern Conference playoff mix, but at least the home fans will have a good dose of humor to get the season started right.
