Thursday evening, a Tweet by Oklahoma State’s most highly sought after recruit, Diamond Stone, brought with it some good news that is sure to allow head coach Travis Ford and the Cowboys’ fan base alike to take a unified sigh of relief and continue to have hope that the top center in the class of 2015 might make Stillwater his home for college.

Along with Oklahoma State, Stone is still considering Wisconsin, Maryland and the defending national champion Connecticut Huskies.

But this is a must have recruit for Ford and Oklahoma State. If Ford were able to reel in Stone, it would go down as one of the highest ranked recruits in the history of the program, and rightfully so with the skill set the 6’10”, 250-pound center possesses.

Stone is a rare combination of size, skill and limitless potential that is sure to blossom into a very special talent, even from his initial days as a freshman in college. Obviously, because of his massive size, he’s not going to be very agile around the rim, but he has phenomenal footwork and craftiness in the paint that makes his offensive arsenal come easy.

Not to mention he has a natural instinct as a rim protector and all of this has yet another year in high school to become more polished before Oklahoma State could potentially add their prized possession to their roster.

If Stone were eventually to become a Cowboy, he would become the cherry on top of what could become a very loaded 2015 recruiting class for Oklahoma State, as they have already received a commitment from 4-star point guard, Juwan Evans. This is in addition to some other big name recruits such as Elijah Thomas, Brandon Sampson, Kerwi Roach and Admon Gilder, who are all still considering Oklahoma State among their college options.

Stone took his official visit to Oklahoma State this past weekend and has an official visit set up with Maryland for the upcoming weekend.
