NBA Power Rankings: Training Camp Edition

Can you feel it? The NBA season is right around the corner, with some team’s media days having already been completed, with the bulk of the league doing theirs Monday, September 29. All of the major dominoes have fallen with Greg Monroe accepting his qualifying offer and Eric Bledsoe accepting the Phoenix Suns latest offer.

We know what each team looks like, so let’s get into some NBA power rankings and break them down! We’re going to do something a bit different with this set of rankings, as we’ll look at each team from a standard media view and a fan’s point of view.

Luckily, we’ve only got a couple of new injuries that will affect the rankings, most notably the injury to Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo, who broke a bone in his hand and will be out 6-8 weeks. Tyreke Evans of the New Orleans Pelicans has a hamstring injury that will keep him out of action 3-5 weeks.

At the end of the 2013-14 season, the San Antonio Spurs were on top of the mountain, with the Miami Heat a distant second. Some things have changed (see that pic above), while others remain the same (foreshadowing?). Where does your team fall? Are they too high or too low? I’d love to hear what you have to say.

This is a feature we’ll be doing every week once the NBA season is officially underway, so make sure you’re checking back here on HoopsHabit.com.
