Phoenix Suns: The Pros And Cons Of Signing Zoran Dragic
Anytime you’re talking about an international basketball competition like the FIBA World Cup, it’s going to be hard to catch the attention of casual NBA fans. The only summer tournaments that catch the eye of Americans are the Olympics, because ‘Merica. The reason behind the lack of interest? Most of the players on the court don’t play in the NBA. But for the rest of us who actually care about events like the FIBA World Cup, picking out the non-NBA players who could play in the NBA is a fun game.

But quite possibly the biggest name being tossed around in future NBA talks comes from the tiny country of Slovenia: Zoran Dragic, the younger brother of Phoenix Suns starting point guard Goran Dragic. Shams Charania of RealGM reported earlier this week that Zoki was receiving attention from the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and Orlando Magic. ESPN’s Marc Stein later added the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns to that list.
Assuming the Suns are interested, they make the most sense for Goran’s older brother on paper. Not only would Phoenix sport two sets of brothers on their roster, but Zoran would have a chance to flourish playing alongside someone he’s familiar with both on and off the court. So how would Zoran Dragic and the Phoenix Suns work? Should Dragon Ball Z become a real thing? (Because I’m officially patenting that nickname here and now.) Here are the pros and cons.
