Derrick Rose’s Best Moments From 2013-14
Take a look at this photo Chicago Bulls fans. It includes your hometown hero, Derrick Rose, the guy whose return was supposed to put the Bulls on the list of title contenders coming into the season. Well, on paper at least.
During the preseason, Rose appeared to be the player fans saw prior to the ACL injury he sustained in the 2012 playoffs. He was explosive. He was taking the ball to the rim with little hesitation. And through six games, his averages included 19.8 points, 4.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per outing while shooting just under 50 percent from the field.
However, the regular season was an entirely different story. Thanks to another season-ending knee surgery he suffered against the Portland Trail Blazers in late November, Rose was limited to just 10 games this season.
While his numbers (15.9 points, 4.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds) were respectable, Rose was a shell of his former self. He began to think too much about the game rather than playing instinctively as he had done before. This was probably the biggest factor that contributed to his woeful 35 percent shooting—the lowest mark of his career.
Although Rose’s comeback was not what Bulls fans had hoped for, there a few games worth noting from this past season. And although they were not easy to find, here are some of Mr. Rose’s best moments from 2013-14.
Please note: the following list includes games in which Rose recorded at least 17 points.
