The Minnesota Timberwolves finally pulled the trigger on a Kevin Love trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and acquired Thaddeus Young, Andrew Wiggins, and Anthony Bennett. Minnesota acquired two very solid players and a potential superstar in the deal, and are very happy with the return that they received.

Love wasn’t happy with the direction that the Wolves were heading, and made it clear that he wanted to be traded to a contender.

While Minnesota likely isn’t going to be a playoff contender in the tough Western Conference, they will be a much more exciting team to watch this season with their new additions. Zach LaVine was their first-round draft pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, and is an extremely athletic wing player who will be a terror alongside of Wiggins in the open court.

Minnesota still has Ricky Rubio at the point guard position as well, and he is expected to take another step forward as well.

It will be very interesting to see how the team deals with the loss of the face of the franchise, and what happens with the fan base as well. Wiggins is going to be a draw for many, but it does set the Wolves back as far as being able to compete for a playoff position.

There are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about the future of the Timberwolves, but this season will be a very intriguing one to watch for them.

What five bold predictions can be made about the 2014-15 Timberwolves?
