New York At Brooklyn Nov. 7

Ever since the Nets began play in Brooklyn in the fall of 2012, there has been an ongoing battle for hardwood supremacy in New York.  Last season, Brooklyn lost the season series 3-1 and fell to a 5-3 overall record against there east river rival. The Nets could actually have a better team on paper this year, as it appeared last season, but their losses may be insurmountable. Brooklyn has the pieces to defend the New York Knicks on the perimeter, where they jack up roughly 25 three-pointers per game. However, their interior defense leaves much to be desired.

The Nets have the firepower in their starting lineup to beat most teams but it will be difficult matching up with a rejuvenated and lighter Carmelo Anthony. I would give New York a slight upperhand in this matchup.
