For the fifth time, the San Antonio Spurs are going to get to raise their championship banner during their NBA opener, as they’re slated to open at home against the Dallas Mavericks on October 28th, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. The full scheduled is slated for release Wednesday night.

The Spurs are 4-0 in such games, as they opened at home in the 1999-00 season, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 89-76.  They also opened at home in the 2003-04 season, as they defeated the Phoenix Suns 83-82. In 2005-06, they opened at home against the Denver Nuggets and defeated them 102-91. Lastly, they opened at home in the 2007-08 season, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 106-97.

Their matchup against the Mavericks should be special, with the Spurs returning all of their key cogs that contributed to the 2014 NBA Championship team, hosting their in-state rival Mavericks, with Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis and new acquisition Chandler Parsons leading the way.
