Joakim Noah was the heart and soul of the Chicago Bulls this year. After Derrick Rose suffered another season-ending knee injury and Luol Deng was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, it would have been easy to write this season off.

But despite the loss of the team’s two best players, Noah refused to quit and did not buy into all the tank talk that was swirling around the team in mid-January. Instead, he improved every facet of his game—posting career highs in points (12.6), rebounds (11.3) and assists (5.4).

In fact his per-game assists average were the most by a center since Sam Lacey recorded 5.7 per outing during the 1979-80 season, via Chicago Tribune’s K.C. Johnson.

Noah also won the Defensive Player of the Year award; was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive first team and he finished fourth in MVP voting behind Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Blake Griffin. As a result of his improved play this season, fans at the United Center often showered the Bulls center with MVP chants.

While Noah did not agree with the sentiment, his relentless effort on the court gave the Bulls faithful something to cheer about every game. With that being said, let’s take a look back at some of Noah’s most memorable performances from 2013-14.

Please note: the list contains games in which Noah recorded at least 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots.
