History has shown that drafting prospects based on their performances in international leagues can be a hit-or-miss situation. For every Pau Gasol drafted, there is are several like Andrea Bargnani or Darko Milicic – players who projected highly, but were never able to make the transition to the NBA game. Enter Clint Capela, the 25th overall pick of the Houston Rockets.

Capela has spent his entire professional season playing abroad in the French basketball league. The Rockets initially drafted Capela with the plans of stashing him abroad for another season.

The move was designed to create more cap space to sign free agents like Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh, but since neither move materialized, they pushed to bring Capela over a year early.

Not much is known locally about the Swiss international, so without further ado; let’s see what we can find out about Clint Capela, the international man of mystery.
