Potential

Sure, Dinwiddie’s injury led to a drop in his draft stock, and may have have temporarily halted his development, but he’s got a lot of talent. Dinwiddie’s game is built around things that many would say the Pistons are in desperate need of. As a combo guard, Dinwiddie is aggressive and can drive into the paint, he can step out and shoot 3-pointers, while he also has strong defensive instincts.

His injury will delay his first appearance on the court, but it will also give Detroit extra time to help Dinwiddie mature, and understand his own game. It’s not hard to imagine Dinwiddie being a guy with a chip on his shoulder having got injured and fallen into the second round, and if that is the case, the Pistons will look to help him use that to his advantage.
