Adam Silver and the NBA’s board of governors knew they were in for the long haul after former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer won a private auction to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers. It was the hottest news in May, and after the draft in addition to the start of a noisy free agency the infamous Donald Sterling saga has dragged on.
