New York Knicks: Summer League Set Early Tone For Culture Change
Tim Hardaway Jr. Picks Up From Where He Left Off
Following a solid rookie season, Tim Hardaway Jr. represented the Knicks on the Las Vegas All-NBA Summer League Second Team while scoring 22.8 points per game (second only behind Las Vegas Summer League MVP Glenn Rice Jr.’s 25.0 points) in 26.6 minutes. He shot 38.1 percent from three-point range and 82.4 percent at the free throw line while leading New York in scoring during each of his team’s five Summer League games.
After last year, that type of offense was expected. But as Fisher noted to nyknicks.com’s Jonah Ballow, Hardaway showed a willingness to play better defensively — an area in which he went through some expected first-year growing pains.
"“I thought he gave an honest effort on the defensive end,” Fisher said. “That’s an area where he’ll have to improve and [where] our entire team will have to be much better than we have been in the past.”"
