The Skinny

Under the instruction of Coach Tom Izzo, Michigan State point guard Keith Appling spent his senior year focussed on improving as a playmaker and worked on being more of a facilitator than he had in his junior year. Appling saw his assists per game jump from 3.3 to 4.5 per game while also cutting down on his turnovers. Appling is an experienced guard with multiple deep runs into the NCAA tournament, including an appearance in the Elite-8 this year. While his scoring dipped from the 13.4 points he scored as a junior, he improved his efficiency and continues to work on his jump shot which is the real weakness in his game. Let’s break down this talented senior guard in his NBA Draft player profile.
