Let’s start with one of the members of the current Detroit team, former Duke Blue Devil Kyle Singler. Although Singler is far from the iconic, cult status of the players I will mention later in this list, Singler is a genuine example of the type of valuable role players that can be unearthed later in the draft.

Taken with the 33rd pick of the 2011 draft, Singler has since settled well into life in the NBA. The 26-year-old has become a real contributor, both off the bench, and as a starter, and is a valuable member of the Pistons squad.

Singler’s 3-point shooting in particular, has offered Detroit something they were missing, and with this year’s pick they could do a lot worse than find another steady guy who will fill a need.
