2. Milwaukee Bucks – Joel Embiid, Kansas
Milwaukee needs some sort of shakeup and lighting a fire under Larry Sanders‘ backside might be what it takes. Drafting Joel Embiid accomplishes that, among other things, for the Bucks.
Milwaukee’s other options at center are Sanders, Zaza Pachulia and Miroslav Raduljica. Pachulia is 30 years old and probably isn’t going to be part of Milwaukee’s future. Adding Embiid to a defense that allowed 103.7 points per game last year will bolster it and give the Bucks options in the post.
If Sanders wants to be part of the the solution rather than the problem, then together he and Embiid could be the new twin towers of the Midwest. Shot blocking bigs are always good to have at your disposal and having two could make Milwaukee’s interior defense stand out and give them some options on where to build elsewhere.
Embiid’s biggest concern has been his back, but given that he was playing sand volleyball this past weekend, it looks to be in good shape.
