Millsap averaged a career high 17.9 points per game this season. as his offensive game continued to evolve, even after seven years in the NBA. Millsap has always been a great finisher, able to score in a variety of ways in the paint, but the work he has done to expand his range since arriving in Atlanta, has made him a much more complete scoring threat.

In those previous seven seasons that Millsap has been in the league, he had attempted a total of 113 3-pointers, making only 27.4 percent of them. This season, Millsap was transformed into a different player though. Taking 212 3-point attempts, Millsap shot 35.8 percent this season.

The improvement in that aspect of Millsap’s game is monumental, and changed the way that opposing teams had to approach defending him. It helped the team as a whole, as along with Pero Antic, Millsap can draw opposing big men away from the rim, leaving space for Jeff Teague to drive.
