The Cleveland Cavaliers have apparently narrowed it down to four options: Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker or a trade…which really isn’t narrowing it down very much at all.
Cleveland is currently trying to set-up an initial pre-draft workout with Joel Embiid (most likely in the next week or so), with the goal of then having follow-up workouts with Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. These workouts are due diligence for the decision that would be entirely within their own control: who they would select if they were to use the No. 1 pick in the draft.
These are the exact same options that they had narrowed it down to last week, and the week before, and every day since the NBA Draft Lottery took place. In fact, with the growing number of rumored trade candidates, it feels as if the pool of available options is growing rather than shrinking.
Immediately after the Draft Lottery took place, rumors started to swirl about the Cavaliers’ potential interest in trading for an established star. And now, four names have surfaced as apparent trade targets: Kevin Love, Joakim Noah, Al Horford, and Brook Lopez.
Despite all playing in the frontcourt, each player varies in the skills that they would bring to the Cavaliers…and each has very different odds as to the likelihood of a trade.
But what do those odds look like, and what would each of these players bring to the team?
