2. Milwaukee Bucks – Joel Embiid, Kansas
Milwaukee didn’t get the first pick but they literally got the second-best thing in the second overall pick.
With it being a three-team race for the top pick right now, whoever the Cavs take will just open the door for the Bucks to choose right after. Parker is off the board now, so the Bucks would be better off going with Joel Embiid here.
There’s no telling what kind of production and security Milwaukee will get from Larry Sanders and John Henson is better off being a power forward. Also, there’s the Giannis Antetokounmpo factor. Giannis appears to be Milwaukee’s future at either the shooting guard or small forward position and not letting him fully develop before spending a lot of time, money and effort on also trying to develop Wiggins is not in their best interest.
Embiid’s future lies with his back issues. Whether or not the physical comes back positive for him will determine if he deserves to be a top overall selection or if he’ll end up like Nerlens Noel and fall in the draft. However, if it comes back that his back is fine, he’ll be a top three pick without much hesitation.
